Man struck by train in downtown Orlando, officials say

Man struck by train identified as Samuel Luis Perez Torres, 26

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was stuck by a train in downtown Orlando Sunday around 2 p.m..

According to Amtrak, 198 people were on board train No. 98 headed to New York.

Officials identified the man struck by the train as Samuel Luis Perez Torres, 26.

Traffic at Concord and Amelia streets were diverted due to the crash. Roadways are expected be closed for several hours.

Amtrak officials said they are working to get the train moving again.
