SunRail train involved in Seminole County crash


SANFORD, Fla. – A SunRail train is delayed after another train struck a vehicle on Wednesday evening, according to officials.

Florida Department of Transportation officials said the SunRail train, which was empty, was heading to the maintenance facility at 6:27 p.m. when it struck a vehicle on the tracks at Monroe Street.

Officials say minor damage was reported to the vehicle, which was driven up onto the tracks.

The 5:45 p.m. SunRail train out of Sand Lake Road P328 was delayed at Sanford with 30 passengers on board as authorities investigated the crash.

No other details were immediately available.
