DeLAND, Fla. – DeLand police say they are investigating possible threats made against DeLand High School by a student.
According to a release from police, officers were alerted Monday morning that a student had made threats to harm students at DeLand High.
The 14-year-old student was interviewed and DeLand police say he was detained under the Baker Act on Monday after he said he made the threats as a joke and had not meant it.
His identity has not been released.
Officers were on the high school campus and say that there was no indication of any immediate threat.
No other details were immediately available.
