Deputies: 2 men arrested in thefts likely connected to others

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Busy mom Edissa Rosenblum lost out on hundreds of dollars in gift cards when thieves targeted her unlocked car last Friday morning.

"By the time you go out to the other side and take the baby out of the car and grab all your groceries, or whatever you have in your hand, it's another step to open up that door to hit the button," Rosenblum said.

But it was a neighbor's stolen gift card that would help deputies track down two men -- Robert Connor, 28, and Tyler Johnson, 21. Deputies said they hit up at least six cars in the Oviedo Cobblestone Subdivision.

"While it's an extra step, it's an extra step I will be taking from now on," Rosenblum said, referring to always locking her doors.

The neighbor wouldn't go on camera, but told News 6 that his WaWa's gift card receipt linked the card to the gas station it was last used at on Semoran Boulevard in Orlando.

Deputies checked surveillance cameras, saw the two men use the card, and their car license plate led to a Casselberry home. At that home police found the men and several of the stolen items.

Connor was already a wanted fugitive, and both were arrested and charged with the thefts. Police are now working to connect the two men with other car burglaries in the area.
