Cook, who police say was killed in a murder-suicide by her estranged husband, taught in Brevard Public Schools for 19 years prior to her death, and was a finalist for Brevard County's "Teacher of the Year" prize.

Her memorial ceremony will involve a short service, which will last approximately 75 minutes, featuring musical performances and readings, Florida Today reports.

During the ceremony, Cook's students will share their favorite memories about her, and Cook's family members will be attending.

Rockledge Gardens has donated plant decorations for the ceremony, and Rockledge High will be supplying purple balloons, since purple was Cook's favorite color.
