Passengers removed from flight at OIA after reports of flames from engine

9 passengers, 3 crew on board Silver Airways Flight 70

ORLANDO, Fla. – Passengers were removed from Silver Airways Flight 70 Monday night at Orlando International Airport after the crew received notification there were flames coming out from under the engine cowl.

Silver Airways officials said following safety and operational procedures, nine passengers were removed from the flight, which was a Saab 340 plane model. Three crew members were also on board.

Silver Airways said the flight was preparing to depart to Tallahassee when the incident occurred.

There were no reports of injuries or impact on operations.

Airline officials said it was working to provide the customers with hotel accommodations for the night and that they would be placed on flights Tuesday morning.
