Mandatory recess approved in Osceola

Measure requires at least 20 minutes of activity each day

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Osceola County School Board on Tuesday approved a plan requiring mandatory recess for thousands of students.

The plan requires at least twenty minutes of recess per day for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Parents had been pushing the district for months to make the change.

The new policy is expected to start in August.
