2 men arrested in Orlando crime spree

Police arrest Nathaniel Woods, 24, John Powell, 37

ORLANDO, Fla. – Two men were arrested in connection with a crime spree Sunday night in Orlando.

Officials said Nathaniel Woods, 24, and John Powell, 37, were responsible for robbing a tourist at an outlet mall outside the Orlando premium outlets on I-Drive.

Police said the two shoved the victim down before stealing his cellphone and backpack.

The two then pistol-whipped an Uber driver before they were spotted in a car that was involved in a carjacking, police said. They then led police on a chase.

Woods is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of Alprazolam, robbery with a firearm, carjacking with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, grand theft and fleeing police.

Powell is charged with carjacking with a firearm, robbery with a firearm, burglary of conveyance and grand theft.
