While some folks prefer the simpler life, others want the comforts of home.

"This is what it's all about!" said Rodney Renner, of Alabama.

Renner said it's all about big couches and the beach.

"It's just all about a little bit of sand to represent the beach. Kind of bring the beach to the track. Just a little bit of fun and atmosphere that we want to bring here," said Renner.

Doors down from Renner, Doug Stansbury is equipped with a bar.

"We get a lot of comments on it and we get a lot of people stopping by for a drink," he said.

Stansbury said he used to camp but traded in his tent for a camper and electricity.

"We did that one time about 10 years ago and that was it. Not again. This is much more convenient. This is like home," he said.

Race fans even got fancy with transportation by scooting around in a motorized cooler. Fans said it's worth spending days waiting around for the big race.

"We're out here for 10 days. It's almost like 10 days of hanging out with your buddies and friends and then all of sudden it's like, oh yeah, there's a race tonight," said one race fan.
