Tom Perry died in crash, FHP says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 42-year-old man who had just exited a Lynx bus was struck and killed in Orange County, officials say.

Tom Perry died in the crash, which occurred around 8 p.m. at Orange Avenue and Lancaster Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to troopers, Perry got off the bus and was attempting to cross Orange Avenue when he walked directly into the path of a BMW sports utility vehicle driven by a 30-year-old Orlando man.

Perry was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said. The driver was not injured.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
