Pedestrian injured by train in Kissimmee

Victim expected to recover

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A pedestrian was rushed to a hospital Wednesday night after being injured by a passing train in Kissimmee, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The incident happened along East Donegan Avenue near Michigan Avenue.

According to the FHP, a person was on the tracks, so the conductor sounded the train's horn and the person moved.

The pedestrian was injured as the train passed. The victim was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center.

The train blocked the road for hours while troopers investigated, but it later reopened.

No other details have been released.
