4 employees hurt after fire at Clermont auto dealership

Officials: Employees used electric pump to transfer gas from car tank to another

CLERMONT, Fla. – Four people were hurt when a fire broke out at an auto dealership in Clermont, fire officials said.

Firefighters received a call about a fire at Napleton Clermont Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram at 15859 State Road 50 about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Clermont Fire Marshal Bill Harrison said.

The fire erupted while employees were using an electric pump to transfer gasoline from one car tank to another, according to Harrison.

When firefighters arrived, the fire was extinguished.

Four employees suffered minor injuries, but declined to go to the hospital, Harrison said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
