Driver sought after hitting bicyclist, leaving scene, Holly Hill police say

HOLLY HILL, Fla. – A bicyclist was injured Monday morning after a hit-and-run accident where the driver fled, according to Holly Hill Police Department. 

Police said they were called at 8:30 a.m. to the crash scene just north of the intersection of Silver Beach Drive and Riverside Drive. 

Bicyclist Hienz Peier, 67,was transported to the Halifax Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

"The suspect vehicle involved in the crash was described by witnesses as a black Mazda passenger car missing the passenger side mirror, which was broken off during the collision," police said in the release.  

The vehicle was last seen heading northbound on Riverside Drive. 

Investigators are currently following up on leads to identify the driver.
