Escaped prisoner, girlfriend booked in Volusia County Jail

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – An escaped inmate and his girlfriend who were found in Kentucky earlier this month have been booked in the Volusia County Jail.

Gary Bullock Jr., 24, failed to return to the facility off U.S. Highway 92 in Daytona Beach, according to the Florida Department of Corrections. 

Bullock, his girlfriend Natasha Quigley and her 3-year-old son, Xander Quigley, were found on Feb. 12 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, deputies said. They were taken into custody without incident by authorities with the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

Deputies said they were are safe with no injuries to report. Xander was taken into protective custody until arrangements are made to place him in the care of family.

Investigators said Bullock worked maintenance at the El Caribe Resort in Daytona Beach Shores. He reported to work but later cut off his ankle monitoring device and disappeared in January. Investigators believed he was with his Natasha Quigley and her son. Bullock's mother said the two were planning a life together.

Bullock is charged with escape, destroying electronic monitor equipment and criminal mischief.

Quigley is charged with aiding an escape.

The U.S. Marshals Service Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force and Central Kentucky Fugitive Task Force led the effort to search for and find the trio, deputies said.
