Gov. Scott urged to pardon 'Groveland Four'

Lake County commissioners make request

GROVELAND, Fla. – Lake County commissioners are supporting a new bill that would exonerate four black men accused of raping a white woman in 1949.

Commissioners unanimously voted Tuesday to support legislation urging Gov. Rick Scott to clear the so-called "Groveland Four."

The resolution comes two weeks after the mayor of Groveland issued a similar proclamation.
