3 teens rescued after truck overturns in Cocoa ditch

COCOA, Fla. – Three people were rescued after a truck overturned in a ditch in Cocoa on Thursday afternoon.

The crash was reported at Quarno Road and Burgess Avenue just after 4 p.m.

Police said a pickup truck was driving down the dirt road at a slow speed and started sliding toward the canal. The 18-year-old driver, Travis Crapps, couldn't regain control of the truck and it flipped onto its roof in the canal, officials said.

Brevard County Fire Rescue said Crapps, 19-year-old Dakota Rich and a 14-year-old boy were hurt in the crash and two of the victims were trapped in the vehicle. One person was airlifted to an area hospital with an injury to his hand. All three are listed with minor injuries.
