'Cat burglar' wanted in Winter Park robberies

Police release photos of man wearing hoodie with 'ears'

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Winter Park police on Wednesday released photos of a man dressed as a cat who they say robbed two businesses last month.

The first robbery occurred around 2:40 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Current at 128 S. Park Ave. The man, who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with "ears" sewn onto it, implied that he had a weapon and demanded money, according to Winter Park police. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The second robbery happened around 12:45 p.m. the next day at McDonald's at 2472 Aloma Ave. The man was wearing similar clothing in both robberies, police said.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

The man was described as about 6 feet 3 inches tall, and he was also wearing a dark green jacket.
