BELLEVIEW, Fla. – Multiple groups joined students and faculty Wednesday to show a mock DUI scenario to Belleview High School students.

The Ocala Police Department, Marion County Fire Rescue, the Florida Highway Patrol, Roberts Funeral Home and the Marion County Sheriff's Office teamed up with Belleview High School students and faculty.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said the presentation is hosted each year at a different school in Marion County before prom season in an effort to show the possible consequences of driving drunk, including a car crash, injuries, arrest and death.

The students showed the impact it would have on the victims' families as well, deputies said.

"We appreciate everyone for their involvement in getting this important message out to our students," the Marion County Sheriff's Office said. "If this demonstration saved one life, then it was worth the time."
