ORLANDO, Fla. – The evening was quite and everyone was settled in for a relaxing Friday night when a loud crash changed one families plan for the evening.
A very large, very old Oak tree fell on the home located at 208 Hibiscus Road in Orlando around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
No one was injured but Ricardo Dabila was surprised when it fell.
"We heard a loud bang and I jumped out of bed and the house was shaking. We thought that the garage had come down because we're doing construction on it. But we saw the first half of the tree went against the house," Dabila said.
"The truth of the matter is O.U.C. came and removed the light pole that was sustaining that tree about a week ago. They didn't do anything to reinforce it so the tree just gave out. It was rotten, it was being held up by the light pole," Dablia said.
The home was declared uninhabitable by the city of Orlando until repairs can be made.
"Thank God it didn't hurt nobody," Dablia said.
