Arrest made in Ormond Beach after four-hour standoff -- in car

4 others arrested in Daytona Beach robbery


ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Five people were arrested Friday -- one after a four-hour standoff -- following a Volusia County robbery, police said.

The standoff took place in the 100 block of Granada Boulevard.

According to Ormond Beach police, a gray four-door Dodge was involved in a robbery in Daytona Beach. The car was spotted in Ormond Beach and stopped, police said.

Four people immediately got out of the car and were arrested, police said. One person refused to exit, and a standoff with deputies and a SWAT team ensued, police said.

After four hours, the person surrendered and was arrested, police said.

All five were taken into custody by the Daytona Beach Police Department.

Traffic on Granada was diverted in both directions during the incident.
