MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. – Authorities have identified the man who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Merritt Island.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Steven Terry was crossing Courtenay Parkway on his bike when fell off. He was attempting to get back on his bike when he was struck by a vehicle.
Officials said the driver of the vehicle that fatally struck the bicyclist left the scene of the crash.
Troopers say they are searching for a dark-colored 1995-2003 Chevy S-10 pickup truck with front-end damage that left the scene after the crash.
Courtenay Parkway was shut down following the crash.
Charges are pending in the crash.
