Teen arrested in connection with beating, attempted shooting of Flagler County man

Confrontation reportedly over tax refund owed to alleged shooter's girlfriend

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies arrested a 19-year-old Bunnell man in connection with the alleged beating and attempted shooting of Napoleon Lorick, 33, in Flagler County.

Steve Boursiquot is accused of shooting at Lorick after a confrontation over a $2,832 tax refund that is owed to Boursiquot's girlfriend. Deputies were called to Espanola Road and County Road 205 at 8 p.m. Monday where several women said Lorick was being beaten by a group of people. The witnesses also said a shot was fired at Lorick.

Lorick told authorities he was punched by Boursiquot and another man. As he got up and started to run, Lorick said he looked back and saw Boursiquot remove a revolver from his shot. He said he heard at least one gunshot and a whizzing sound fly by him.

Lorick had visible injuries to his lower back, a swollen ankle and complained of an injured hand after the confrontation, deputies said.

Boursiquot was arrested and taken to the Flagler County Jail, where he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery. He is in jail on bail of $6,000.

Lorick was arrested on an unrelated warrant from Volusia County for possession of marijuana.
