SANFORD, Fla. – A motorcycle rider was pronounced dead Wednesday after his motorcycle collided with a car, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
William Martinez, 27, of Deltona was killed when he was ejected off the bike and struck a tree, officials said.
The crash occurred at 4:45 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and St. Johns Parkway.
A driver of 2000 Mitsubishi was traveling northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and the motorcycle driver was driving southbound.
When the driver of the car attempted to make a left turn on westbound St. Johns Parkway, she turned into the path of Martinez, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Martinez was pronounced dead at Central Florida Regional Hospital.
