Cops release sketch of man who tried to kidnap woman in Orange County
Cops say 3 men tried to grab woman walking home from friend's house
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County deputies released a composite sketch on Thursday of one of the three men who they say tried to kidnap a woman earlier this month in the Waterbridge area.
The attempted kidnapping was reported on March 10 at the intersection of Koval Court and Woodruff Drive.
Deputies said the victim was walking home from her friend's house when a black, custom older-model Honda pulled up next to her.
Two Hispanic males got out of the vehicle, grabbed her arm and yelled, "Take her," according to deputies.
The victim was able to break free and run away from the men.
"It's scary to know that this was on my street," Tiana Arroyo Torres said. "It's scary because I have two little girls, an 11-year-old and a 6-year-old, and I don't even let them go to school right up the street just because of that reason. So this makes me more worried."
She was also concerned that she was just finding out about this Thursday, two weeks after it happened.
"I wish we would have had an email or flyer or something sent to us to let us know this happened to be careful," Torres added.
News 6 asked the Orange County Sheriff's Office why it took them so long to release the information and composite sketch.
Spokesperson Jane Watrel said, "Our night investigations team has been working this case tirelessly. Not everything they do is shared publicly.
However, after the victim was able to meet with our sketch artist and come up with a composite for the Crimeline bulletin, we put it out."
Deputies have also increased patrols in the area.
Deputies described the driver of the vehicle as a Hispanic man in his mid-30s with a bald head and Puerto Rican accent. The second culprit was described by deputies as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a short fade haircut, and the third was described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a muscular build, a short fade haircut with designs and short facial hair.
