MIAMI, Fla. – To help feed and care for young kittens that have been left at a shelter, Miami-Dade County Animal Services is searching for people to take part in its new program, Kitten Cuddlers, WTSP reports.

Kitten Cuddlers will provide instruction on how to bottle feed and nurture a newborn kitten. The Kitten Cuddler package will also include kitten milk replacer, heating pads, and feeding bottles.

To become a Kitten Cuddler foster parent, email asdfoster@miamidade.gov and write "Kitten Cuddler" in the subject line.

Officials say the program is the result of 28,000 to 30,000 unwanted cats and dogs being abandoned in Miami every year.
