Driver arrested after man riding bicycle struck by car in Apopka

Authorities investigate at State Road 436, Ulysses Drive

APOPKA, Fla. – A driver has been arrested after a man riding a bicycle was struck by a car in Apopka, authorities said.

Apopka Fire and Police departments responded at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday to State Road 436 at Ulysses Drive.

The man was being treated at the scene and was taken by ambulance to Florida Hospital Apopka, where he was listed in stable condition. Troopers said he has a broken leg.

The Florida Highway Patrol's charges for the driver, identified as Christine Cannon, include DUI with serious injury and careless driving for the crash. Apopka police said they will have their own charges, which includes DUI.
