Deputies said they stopped at a Wawa in Altamonte Springs, where a store clerk told them three customers, who appeared to be under the influence, had just left the store and gotten into a vehicle.

The deputy told the driver, later identified as Streams, to stop and instead, he put the car in reverse and recklessly sped away, almost crashing into other vehicles and showing no regard for the safety of others, according to a post on Seminole County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

Deputies said Streams' vehicle crashed into a tree near the intersection of Lavon Drive and Pennsylvania Avenue and Streams left behind his two female passengers behind and ran away.

Streams hid under a parked vehicle, but was sniffed out by SCSO K-9 Eros and taken into custody, according to deputies.

Streams' passengers were not injured in the crash.

SCSO’s Alert 1 helicopter captured this video of deputies apprehending a man who fled from them late Tuesday night. It all began when a deputy and deputy trainee stopped at a WaWa in unincorporated Altamonte Springs. The store clerk told them that three customers, who appeared to be under the influence, had just left the store and got into a vehicle. The deputies immediately spotted that vehicle in the parking lot and instructed the male driver to stop. Instead of stopping, the driver put the car in reverse and recklessly sped away, almost crashing into other vehicles and showing no regard for the safety of others. The suspect’s car then crashed into a tree near the intersection of Lavon Drive and Pennsylvania Avenue. The driver left his two female passengers behind and continued to flee on foot. He thought he could elude deputies by hiding under a parked vehicle, but was sniffed out by SCSO K-9 Eros and taken into custody. The driver was identified as Dayshawn Streams, 18, of Orlando. He was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding, hit and run, marijuana possession, driving on a suspended license, and resisting without violence. The female passengers did not sustain any injury as a result of the crash.
