Man shot at Orlando apartment complex

Victim taken to hospital

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was shot late Wednesday at an Orlando apartment complex, just blocks from where a security guard was wounded in a shooting the previous day.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said a 24-year-old man was shot at the Chowder Bay Apartments on South Rio Grande Avenue.

The man was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, deputies said.

The Sheriff's Office said the shooter, described only as a male, remains on the loose.

No other details were released, and an investigation is ongoing.

In the previous incident, the security guard was working his first day on the job at the Americana Plaza when he was shot. The guard survived, and the culprits have not been caught.

It doesn't appear that the shootings are related.
