DAVIE, Fla. – The Davie Fire Department rescued a man who was stuck inside a piece of construction equipment.

Sky 10 was above the 1800 block of Southwest 115th Avenue at 11:30 a.m. Friday and saw firefighters helping the man, who appeared to be stuck from his waist down.

A Davie Fire Department representative said at least a dozen firefighters were involved in the extrication of the worker, who was stuck in a bobcat that was partially submerged in water.

It appears that the man was stuck between the front bucket and the cab. He was conscious and speaking to firefighters as they worked to free him.

It's unclear what caused the worker to become trapped.

Firefighters pulled the worker from the equipment shortly after 12 p.m., about 45 minutes after the worker became stuck.

He was taken to a nearby field by ambulance and was then airlifted to an area hospital.

A man who lives in the area said the victim was working at a vacant home that is undergoing renovations.
