Police search for driver in deadly DUI crash

Arrest warrant issued for Derrick Frierson, 46

Police say they need the public's assistance tracking down a suspected drunken driver who killed a young, single mother in a December crash.

Orlando police investigators say Derrick Frierson, 46, was driving more than 60 mph down East Colonial Drive on Dec. 2 when he plowed into the back of a car waiting at a stop light.

Nitasha Bennett, 28, was killed in the crash, investigators said.

Bennett's friend, Sade Buttler, suffered injuries that paralyzed her from the waist down.

Investigators say vehicular homicide investigations can last months, and this investigation took four months.

Now, armed with an arrest warrant, OPD investigators say they don't know where Frierson is living.

News 6 used the address he gave investigators the night of the crash, only to find out it was not a house or an apartment.

The address he gave investigators is that of a UPS Store.

If you know where Frierson is, you're urged to call Orlando police or CrimeLine at 800-423-TIPS.
