Trapper confirms captured gator attacked pet dog

Bones, hair found in animal's stomach

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – A trapper who captured a 9-foot alligator in Port Orange said he found evidence that the reptile attacked and killed a family's dog on Tuesday.

Curtis Lucas said he found bones and hair inside the gator's stomach.

The gator was captured Wednesday, a day after a 100-pound boxer was found dead in a lake behind the Skyview subdivision.

Trappers said they will set more traps within the next few days to capture another gator that has been spotted in the water.
