Gunman arrested in Palm Bay shooting

Suspected shooter found hiding blocks away, police say

PALM BAY, Fla. – Palm Bay police say they have the suspect wanted in a shooting that injured two people at a home on Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened about 3 a.m. in a residential neighborhood in the 900 block of Canada St. Police received a 911 call reporting the shooting, prompting officers to quickly converge on the area and set up a perimeter.

Cameron Ayub, 23, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder in the shooting.

Police say one victim was shot multiple times and is in critical condition and another victim suffered minor injuries.

According to police, two people went to a home and asked to speak to someone, but that person wasn't home. The pair got into an argument with two others at the home and fired shots. Officers set up crime scene tape around the home, with forensic investigators seen moving in and out of the home taking photographs.

An investigation is ongoing.
