PALM BAY, Fla. – Crews are battling a brush fire Sunday in a heavily wooded area of Palm Bay Regional Park, officials said.

Florida Today reports the fire jumped a canal off Championship Circle near Malabar Road.

It's unclear how the fire began.

"It's an inaccessible area for our brush trucks," Palm Bar Fire Rescue Chief Jim Stables said. "We're dealing with some very mucky conditions and are coordinating right now with the (Florida Forest Service). It's about 4 or 5 acres. We also had a small fire out there yesterday."

The fire is not currently posing any threats to homes or structures in the area.
