Accused cellphone thief jumps into lake at Orlando International Airport

Jarmal Brown arrested at OIA

ORLANDO, Fla. – An accused thief is behind bars after authorities say he tried to make a run from the law.

Flagler County deputies started searching for Jarmal Brown last month after they say he posed as a Target worker and stole $31,000 worth of cellphones from a Palm Coast location.

Brown had been on the run until customs agents caught him trying to fly back to Orlando from the Bahamas over the weekend.

According to the News-Journal, when agents tried to stop him, Brown took off and ran across the tarmac and jumped into a lake.

He was arrested shortly thereafter and is currently being held on $52,000 bond.
