Bicyclist struck by train, killed in Daytona Beach

Man was trying to beat train across tracks, police say


DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A bicyclist was killed Monday night at train tracks on George W. Engram.

According to the Daytona Beach Police Department, the bicyclist, who has only been identified as a man, went around the crossing gate and was trying to get across the tracks to beat the train when he was struck and killed at 7:32 p.m.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
