BMW crashes into tree, splits in half in Apopka

3 victims taken to hospitals

APOPKA, Fla. – Three people were injured Monday night when a black BMW struck a tree, causing the car to split in half.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver was on South Lake Avenue when the car hit a curb and busted a tire. The driver then lost control of the car and struck a tree.

Troopers said a 21-year-old man was sent as a trauma alert to Orlando Regional Medical Center, a 17-year-old male was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital and a third victim in unknown condition was taken to an area hospital.

No other details were immediately released.
