Operation Safe Surrender starts in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach's police chief is hoping some people will spend their Tuesday turning themselves in as part of "Operation Safe Surrender."

The operation allows people with outstanding warrants the chance to come forward and possibly avoid going to jail if they're only wanted for minor offenses.

The event will include everyone from police officers to state workers who can help with traffic tickets.

Operation Safe Surrender runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
