Apopka City Council members elected in run-off election

City council seats 3 and 4 were up for grabs

APOPKA, Fla. – Voters in Apopka headed back to the polls Tuesday to vote in two run-off elections. 

The election determined who will win Apopka City Council seats 3 and 4 after none of the candidates received the required 50-percent plus one vote total in last month's election.

Douglas Michael Bankson defeated incumbent Sam Ruth for city council seat 3, winning 56 percent of the vote.

Kyle Becker beat J.W. "Bill" Arrowsmith for seat 4, taking 55 percent of the votes.
