Suspect who escaped Osceola deputy custody found at home

Woman was being questioned in armed robbery at sheriff's office

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Osceola County deputies have found the suspect who escaped custody while being questioned at the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

Desiree McAlister, 25, was being questioned at the sheriff's office, located at 2601 East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee, in connection with an armed robbery at a Circle K in Intersession City earlier Monday when she escaped from custody in an interview room at 4 p.m., according to deputies.

"We know that the last time she was seen she had handcuffs on and when she was at the residence and when she arrived she did not but all of that is under investigation," said Twis Lizasuain with the OCSO.

She was found at a house in Buenaventura Lakes and surrendered without incident, deputies said just after 7 p.m.

Officials are still investigating McAlister's escape and how she broke through barbed wires and fencing around the building.

"We are going to look at our policies and procedures and going to see if any of them have been violated and we will deal with it at that time," said Lizasuain.
