Top court suggests local judge take anger management course

Judge Jerri Collins scolded domestic violence victim

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Florida's highest court has recommended a Seminole County judge take anger management classes after she scolded a domestic violence victim from the bench.

Judge Jerri Collins sentenced the woman to three days in jail after she didn't show up to court to testify against the father of her child.

A judicial commission later determined Collins was out of line.

Collins agreed to accept a public reprimand.

The Florida Supreme Court on Monday said that Collins should also complete an anger management course and attend a domestic violence class.
