DeLand police seeking information on fatal hit-and-run

Body most likely hit by vehicle


DELAND, Fla. – The DeLand Police Department is seeking information on a fatal hit-and-run early Saturday morning.

DeLand police said a man believe to be about 30 years old was found on the road at the intersection of Clara and Michigan avenues.

The man, who didn't have any identification, was likely hit by a vehicle and dragged 50 to 60 feet, police said.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death. It is possible that the man was dead before the hit and run occurred. 

The case remains under investigation.
