Homeowner finds man's missing pit bull in backyard

Man's dog, Riley, disappeared after crash last Wednesday

SANFORD, Fla. – A pit bull that disappeared for several days after a car crash turned up in someone's backyard, the dog's owner said.

Michael Pallone spent several days stapling pictures of his dog Riley around Sanford after the crash last Wednesday.

"When I don't find her, I'll come home and I can't help (it), tears are streaming down my face. Like, where's my dog? I just want her back. I want my baby," Pallone said.

Pallone said he was in New York visiting family when he got a call from his friend who was taking care of Riley.

"He said, 'Hey I'm really sorry.' The dog was out when they were in a car ride. There was an accident. The airbags went off and the dog got very scared, she jumped out of the car and took off," Pallone said.

He said he's had Riley since she was 8 weeks old and couldn't help but think the worst.

"I was thinking, 'Oh my God, is she hurt? Who was driving? Are they hurt?'" Pallone said.

He said he got back as soon as he could and posted Riley's picture all over Facebook with the hashtag #BringRileyHome.

Pallone said he got a call from a homeowner Sunday night that Riley was spotted in their backyard.

Pallone and Riley were reunited.
