ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s official. The Pro Bowl is coming to Central Florida in 2017.

The National Football League, Disney and ESPN held  a joint news conference on Wednesday and made the major announcement.

The 2016 Pro Bowl was held in Honolulu at Hawaii's Aloha Stadium.

The mayors of Orange County and Orlando said in April that they were working to bring the all-star game to the revamped Citrus Bowl.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer told News 6 that the Pro Bowl would bring thousands of people to the city and benefit the local economy.

The Citrus Bowl already hosts Orlando City Soccer and college bowl games and will host next year's Wrestlemania.
