100th Copa América kicks off Friday

Select games to be played in Orlando

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Game one of the 100th Copa América will kick off Friday when Team USA takes on Colombia, the fourth-ranked team in the world.

The soccer tournament features the best national teams from the Western Hemisphere. This year's tournament being held in the United States, including three games in Orlando.

"Copa América Centenario, it takes place once every 100 years, this is a historic event for soccer and for the City of Orlando," said Gabriel Gabor, venue press officer for Copa America Orlando.

Orlando City fans will not be able to see Kaká play on June 8 when Brazil takes on Haiti at Camping World Stadium.

The team captain took himself off the team because of a muscle injury.

"People recognize that Brazil is Brazil, when it comes to soccer, it's the most crowned soccer team in the world some amazing players like Barcelona's Dani Alves. So, I think sports fans, people who have sport and soccer in their hearts they know what Brazil means and they're going to support this game," said Gabor.

The first game in Orlando is set for Saturday, when Costa Rica takes on Paraguay. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
