Man at center of Florida Amber Alert questioned

Sunday marks week since Diana Alvares' family reported her missing

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The man at the center of a South Florida Amber Alert is being questioned by investigators in the disappearance of a 9-year-old girl.

Members of Diana Alvares' family told Fort Myers CBS affiliate WINK-TV that investigators called them Saturday morning to tell them Jose Guerrero, 28, had been located.

Sunday will mark one week since Diana's family reported the girl missing from their Lee County home.

An Amber Alert was issued Thursday and the vehicle she was believed to be in was found just a few hours later.

The 9-year-old girl's family said Guerrero had lived with them for several years, adding he appeared to have a close bond with the young girl. In fact, Diana's mother said she confronted Guerrero about his behavior toward her daughter. Guerrero moved out of the family's home last month.

Guerrero is believed to have family ties to Orange County.

There is a $6,000 reward for information about where Diana is. Anyone who knows anything is asked to call 911.
