Suspect arrested on first-degree murder charges

Police find 29-year-old victim lying in driveway


KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A suspect has been arrested by Osceola County sheriff's detectives and charged with first degree-murder in the death of a 29-year-old Kissimmee man.

Deputies said Elvis Paul Tillett, 58, of 312 Mariana Way in Kissimmee, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of his son-in-law.

Deputies found the victim lying in a driveway at 3:12 p.m. Sunday with an apparent gunshot wound, deputies said.

The victim was taken to Poinciana Medical Center and died a short time later.

Detectives interviewed several witnesses who said Tillett and the victim his son-in-law were involved in a verbal dispute. Tillett retrieved a rifle and shot the victim. Deputies took Tillett into custody, but he did not cooperate with investigators, officers said.

Tillett was charged with first-degree murder based on evidence and witness statements and booked into the Osceola County Jail with no bond.
