UPDATE: Only one travel-related Zika case reported Wednesday in Orange County

Women who are pregnant should avoid traveling to Zika-affected areas, CDC says

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Centers for Disease Control on Wednesday updated its count of Zika cases in the area, with only one more case reported in Orange County.

The CDC said that there was one new travel-related case Wednesday in Orange County. Of the confirmed cases in Florida, eight were still exhibiting symptoms associated with the Zika virus in the last seven to 10 days.

The CDC recommends that women who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant postpone travel to Zika-affected areas. 

Florida has been monitoring pregnant women with evidence of Zika regardless of symptoms since January.
