Police: Woman demanded victim's ATM card, PIN

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – A woman allegedly involved in an armed carjacking has been taken into custody, Port Orange police said.

Police responded at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday to the PNC Bank at 1090 Dunlawton Ave. about an armed carjacking.

Police said officers learned a woman, identified as 54-year-old Catharyn Brandolini, accosted another woman in the parking lot of the Walmart at 1590 Dunlawton Ave. with a knife as the victim was placing groceries in her vehicle.

Brandolini forced the 67-year-old victim into the passenger seat and proceeded to drive the victim's vehicle to the PNC Bank, where she demanded the victim's ATM card and PIN, police said.

While Brandolini was parked and using the ATM, the victim was able to get out of her vehicle and alerted the attention of bystanders, who called 911. Police said after seeing this, Brandolini fled on foot.

A perimeter was established by responding units and Brandolini was found inside the Halifax Hospital at 1041 Dunlawton Ave. Police said she was taken into custody without incident. She faces charges of carjacking with firearm or deadly weapon, robbery with firearm or deadly weapon, and kidnap commit/facilitate commission felony.

The victim was unharmed, police said.
