KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A man was arrested on sexual battery charges after Kissimmee police say the man committed several sexual acts on juveniles he was mentoring at church.
Edwin Garcia, 71, was arrested on four counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and two counts of sexual battery in the incidents, which occurred over the span of two years, according to police.
Police said Garcia ended the relationship with the first victim and then developed another inappropriate relationship with a second juvenile through another church.
Garcia told police that he was a doctor, providing psychology and massage therapy services.
Investigators said they found that Garcia was involved with several churches over the past few years and that they are concerned other victims exist.
Garcia was booked into the Osceola County Jail held on no bond.
