Officers witness attack, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A homeless man was arrested Sunday on allegations of punching a swan at Lake Eola.

Sor Angel Velez, 59, was arrested on a charge of injuring wildlife on public property.

Orlando police said two off-duty officers were walking through Lake Eola Park around 6:30 p.m. and saw a swan move toward Velez, as if it were protecting its babies.

Velez walked away but turned back and punched the swan, police said.

Velez tried to run away, but the officers caught him, according to police.
